Enough is Enough...
The removal of Graffiti Tags within Hornsby Shire can run into tens of thousands of dollars per year for Shire businesses, community groups and Council . This money eats into the profits of business and reduces the funds available to Council for new community amenities.

Tags are not art!... they are a blight on the urban landscape. Territorial markings usually associated lower forms of the animal kingdom.

Hornsby Chamber of Commerce takes a stand.
After months of planning and set up, Hornsby & District Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc launches their Tag-a-Tagger initiative. A data base of graffiti tag identification and location attacks on Hornsby Shire business and community premises.

An updated version of this image data base will be sent to the Hornsby Kuring-gai Local Area Command (Police) on a regular basis to be used to match a tag to a tagger and the extent of their property defacement within Hornsby Shire once they have been apprehended.

The call goes out to ALL Hornsby Shire Business Owners & Residents
The business areas and community spaces in Hornsby Shire covers a huge area. Hornsby Chamber and it’s members can’t cover it all. They now call on all business owners & residents to be their eyes.

Whenever you spot a new graffiti tag take a photo of it in CLOSE UP with you mobile phone or digital camera. Then come to this page on Hornsby Chambers website… click to Tag-a-Tagger upload link below… fill in the required information and uploads the photo of the tag to Hornsby Chamber.

OR

You can now, thanks to The Telstra Shop Hornsby, submit your tag photo directly from your Mobile Phone. MMS your Tag Photo with the location address of the tag to Hornsby Chambers special Tag-a-Tagger Mobile Phone Number: 0447 17 5595. Keep this number in your mobile's phone book under Tag-a-Tagger for quick reference.

How it works
The tag will then be compared with the others on file. Each individual tag is given a ID number. If it is identified as an existing tag in a new location it is added to the list of locations for that tag. If it is a new tag not found on file it is given it’s own ID number and locations will be added to this tag as they are submitted.
